Mississippi Mud Cake (The easy way)
1 box Devils food cake ( I used Pillsbury as it was on sale for $1)
½ cup chocolate chips
1 10oz bag mini marshmallows (again on sale $1)
1 16oz can Rich and Creamy Chocolate Frosting ($1.25)
Mix the cake according to directions and add in the ½ cup chocolate chips. Pour into a 9×13 greased glass baking dish.
Bake according to directions (350 F for 35 min) but 5 min before its done time remove from the oven and top the hot cake with marshmallows and return to oven for the final 5min.
When the cake comes out, microwave the frosting on high for 20 seconds and stir with a knife to make sure its runny. If not, microwave for another 5 sec.
Drizzle hot frosting over the top of the marshmallows.
Allow cake to cool for 15 min before serving and it rocks with vanilla ice cream.
Most Mississippi Mud cake comes with 1 cup of chopped Walnuts on top as well but do to allergies we left this out and it is still a wonderful decadent dessert
